From Tuesday 24 August 2010, rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Assembly Hall in Aberdeen Grammar School, Skene Street.
The entrance to the school grounds in the evenings is from Skene Street. There is plenty of parking in the school grounds at the front and by driving round to the rear of the building. The main entrance to the building itself is on the Skene Street side, to the left of the Byron Statue. Once you enter the building, there will be someone on hand to guide you to the assembly hall where we will be rehearsing.
Rehearsals under our new Musical Director, Peter Parfitt, started on Tuesday 24 August from 7:30 till 9:30 pm and continue in Aberdeen Grammar School until the Tuesday before the performance (30 November), with a break of two weeks during the school October holiday (12 and 19 October).
There will be an evening rehearsal in St Machar's Cathedral on Saturday 4 December from 6:30 to 9:30 pm and a final rehearsal in the afternoon on Sunday 5 December from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm before the performance at 7:45 the same evening. Attendance at both these weekend rehearsals is essential and absences will be allowed only in exceptional circumstances - please contact the Membership Secretary as soon as possible if you will not be able to attend both rehearsals.
New members will be made very welcome and are encouraged to contact the Membership Secretary in advance.
Rehearsals for the May 2011 performance are likely to start on Tuesday 11 January in Aberdeen Grammar School, with the performance taking place on Sunday 8 May. This date is later than normal because of the date of Easter in 2011; the date has still to be confirmed.
